Incredible blue chip wines from a prestigious Oakville collection. Impeccably cellared.
1980 DRC Richebourg Grand Cru from this lot has the following scores - CellarTracker 93 points. This is the tasting note for 1980 DRC Richebourg Grand Cru from Robert Parker - This year, I drank two bottles of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's 1980 Richebourg Grand Cru, and while neither can match the stunning bottle I enjoyed in 2020, both were superb, offering up this wine's striking bouquet of peonies, orange rind and spices mingled with beautifully pure notes of raspberries and plums. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and suave, with melting tannins and a long, perfumed finish, there is some bottle variation today (the wine was bottled barrel-by-barrel without racking, and what's more, it's over 40 years old), but it remains well worth seeking out.
