All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. This consignor's passion for wine spans several decades, beginning with a 1966 Château Gruaud Larose and a lot labeled "unidentified claret, 1870s, from a Scottish castle cellar." Though his collecting has become more modest in recent years, his enthusiasm remains strong. The wines on offer were acquired at auction and stored in proper conditions until their delivery, ensuring careful handling and optimal provenance throughout.

This is the tasting note for 1988 Domaine Dujac Clos St Denis Grand Cru from Robert Parker - I think that the Clos St.-Denis actually might be the top wine from this domaine. The 1988 resembled the 1985 with its extraordinary rich, sweet, expansive bouquet of flowers, plum-like fruit, and smoky, toasty oak. In the mouth, it is fabulously concentated, gorgeously rich and long, and altogether a superb glass of red burgundy. There are some tannins in the finish, and while drinkable now, this wine should be cellared for another 1-2 years in order to round out. It should last for at least a decade.
