All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. A consignor who was a member of a group of professionals who launched a wine club in Toronto during the mid-1970s. Though his interest in wine was long-standing, his serious collecting didn’t begin until after his retirement in 2008. Following several years of research into proper wine storage and investment, he crossed paths with Warren Porter, which further shaped his approach. Most of the wines were sourced through Iron Gate, while additional selections came from the LCBO's Oakville flagship store and its exclusive Classics catalogue. His collection was housed in custom-built cellars, maintained at optimal temperature and humidity, with each bottle categorized by its purpose: Investment, Maturation, or Inheritance.

This showing was anything but! Deep garnet in color, it sashays out of the glass with lavishly dressed, gregarious crème de cassis, baked blackberries and plum pudding scents plus touches of menthol, fenugreek, star anise and sandalwood with fleeting glimpses at dried rose petals and oolong tea. The full-bodied palate is richly fruited, opulent and oh-so seductive, with bags of youthful black fruit and lovely finely grained tannins, finishing with fantastic freshness and length.
