All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.

 

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.

A veteran collector of over 30 years, this consignor began his journey in the early 1990s while working at The Wine Establishment in Toronto. His collection was primarily sourced through the LCBO, MLCC, and the Chicago Wine Company, supplemented by a position on the Harlan Estate mailing list. Each bottle has been professionally maintained in a custom Genuwine Cellars home system, ensuring impeccable storage conditions since acquisition.
1998 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Red from this lot has the following scores - Jeannie Cho Lee (formerly Asian Palate) 97 points, The Wine Advocate 95 points. This is the tasting note for 1998 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Red from Robert Parker - The 1998, which is a candidate for the "Wine of the Vintage," was produced from yields of 0.9 tons per acre. There are only 1,100 cases, and it is the first Harlan Estate to be composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. A spectacular achievement, it boasts an opaque plum/purple color as well as a sumptuous nose of espresso, mineral, blueberry, blackberry, tobacco, licorice, Asian spice, and roasted meat smells. In the mouth, it is seamless, full-bodied, with an unctuous texture, gorgeously sweet tannin, and layer upon layer of concentration. This is a tour de force in winemaking. It is hard to believe that a wine such as this has emerged from 1998. .
