An Alberta-based consignor who worked his way through university, gaining experience at renowned restaurants with exceptional wine programs. His passion for food and wine grew as he surrounded himself with like-minded people who shared the same enthusiasm for the subject. With nearly 20 years of experience in the wine industry, he holds both his sommelier accreditation and the WSET Diploma. He has been collecting wine since 2007 and is the sole owner of all the bottles in his collection. He purchases his wines upon release through retailers via the AGLC, and each bottle has traveled directly from the winery to the retailer, before being carefully stored in his cellar.
1999 Domaine Jamet Cote Rotie from this lot has the following scores - Vinous 97 points, The Wine Advocate 97 points, John Gilman's View from the Cellar 97 points, Jeff Leve The Wine Cellar Insider 97 points, Jamie Goode 96 points, Wine Spectator 95 points. This is the tasting note for 1999 Domaine Jamet Cote Rotie from Robert Parker - One of the all-time greats from this estate is the still inky colored 1999 Cote Rotie. From a hot year that had many vignerons struggling with vinification issues, Jean-Paul compared 1999 to 2009 more than once. Sensationally rich, concentrated and full-bodied, it reveals a classic bouquet of pepper, smoked herbs, black currants and licorice. One sexy Cote Rotie that's just hard to resist, it's drinking perfectly today but will evolve nicely for another decade or more.
