A wine industry professional and dedicated collector since 2007, this consignor started his collection around 2010. The majority of his bottles were acquired directly through the AGLC, the Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation, and select US retailers, while blue-chip selections—such as his Sauternes—were imported directly from a premier Bordeaux négociant. The collection has been meticulously preserved in a dedicated basement EuroCave, while higher ticket items were stored at 13C in Vancouver.
2002 Krug Vintage Brut Champagne from this lot has the following scores - James Suckling 100 points, Wine & Spirits Magazine 100 points, Wine Enthusiast 100 points. This is the tasting note for 2002 Krug Vintage Brut Champagne from Robert Parker - with a score of 97+ points. Krug's 2002 Brut (ID 415064 – disgorged IV/2015) has an intense citrus color and opens with a generous, intense yet fine and precise bouquet that indicates great depth and elegance. Red fruit flavors on the nose lead to a generously rich yet pure, highly refined and elegant palate, with lots of ripe cherry fruits and delicious yeasty flavors. This is a highly complex and tensioned but beautifully balanced 2002 with a charming dosage that gives perfect roundness. The finish, however, is clear, fresh and well-structured, if not taut, and very mineral..
