All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.
An Ontario-based consignor who has carefully monitored and maintained his wine collection. He has a deep appreciation for Bordeaux but holds a special love for California wines, spending considerable time in Napa. He sourced his bottles from the LCBO, SAQ and some Alberta wine retailers, and directly from California wineries. All bottles were stored in immaculate conditions in his Eurocave wine cabinets, which are both temperature and humidity controlled.
The score for 2005 Chateau Haut Brion Blanc Pessac Leognan is 100 points from Wine Spectator and the tasting note - Vibrant and exciting, with intense aromas of light toasty oak, pineapple skin, lemon, gooseberry, acacia honey and peach tart. Flowers even. Full-bodied, layered and refined, with tropical fruit, honey, vanilla, cream and light toasty oak. The length is amazing. White wine doesn't get better than this." (03/08) 96 points Wine Enthusiast - "Very tight and coiled, the freshness of this wine acts as a counterweight to its intense, smoky, ripe fruit flavors. It is so balanced, yet still so young, this is a wine that needs at least 10 years to show its true richness and power." It boasts a gorgeous perfume of citrus oil, lime, honeyed grapefruit, flowers, spicy smoke, and earth, followed by terrific definition, purity, and full-bodied power, but it is not as masculine as its closest competitor, Laville Haut-Brion.
