All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.

 

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.

Beginning his collection in 2000, this consignor maintains an extensive inventory housed within a climate-controlled cellar of 2,500 bottles. Every selection was acquired exclusively through the SAQ and BSW, ensuring impeccable professional sourcing.

2008 Petrus Pomerol from this lot has the following scores - The Wine Advocate 97 points, Wine Enthusiast 97 points, Jeff Leve The Wine Cellar Insider 97 points, Adrian van Velsen - vvWine.ch 97 points, Vinous 96 points, Jeannie Cho Lee (formerly Asian Palate) 96 points, Decanter 96 points. This is the tasting note for 2008 Petrus Pomerol from Robert Parker - It is hard to call Petrus a “sleeper of the vintage,” but the 2008 will merit more attention than most consumers would think. Low yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare resulted in only 25,000 bottles of this beauty. A wine of great intensity (possibly the most concentrated wine of the vintage), this 100% Merlot boasts a dark purple color as well as a sweet perfume of mocha, caramel, black cherries, black currants, earth and forest floor. Deep, unctuously textured, full-bodied and pure, it will benefit from 4-5 years of cellaring and should drink well for 25-30+ years.
