The collector’s passion for wine began in the early 1990s through a focus on food pairings, evolving into an extensive study of wine history and regular travels throughout the premier growing regions of Italy, France, Napa, and Sonoma. She completed the International Sommelier Guild Wine Fundamentals Level 1 and Level 2 certificates in 2002. Discerning the critical importance of temperature and humidity control, she initially kept her collection in a standalone wine cooler before transferring it to a custom, professionally built basement wine cellar constructed during a 2006 home renovation. She acquired all of her high-end allocations from The Wine Cellar in Edmonton and has meticulously maintained them in this pristine, climate-controlled environment ever since.
2009 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Echezeaux Grand Cru from this lot has the following scores - Decanter 96 points, Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy 96 points, Jamie Goode 95 points, BurgHound.com 94 points, Adrian van Velsen - vvWine.ch 94 points. This is the tasting note for 2009 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Echezeaux Grand Cru from Robert Parker - The 2009 Grands-Echezeaux jumps from the glass with vivid aromatics and equally voluptuous fruit. Despite its richness, the Grands-Echezeaux seems to hover on the palate. Layers of fruit continue to build to the long super-refined finish. Over the last few years the Grands-Echezeaux seems like the most improved wine at DRC. .
