Based in Montreal, this consignor has always had a passion for farming and was once a part-owner of a winery in Oregon. His journey into wine collecting began in 2005 when he acquired a collection from a SAQ cellar owner, soon after which he started investing in Bordeaux futures. Except for the Vice Versa, which was purchased directly from the winery, his entire collection was sourced through the SAQ. Every bottle has been carefully stored in his custom-built, climate-controlled underground cellar by Mr. St-Laurent.
Producer notes - The passion project of Canadian entrepreneur Patrice Breton, Vice Versa had an auspicious start with Paul Hobbs as the initial consulting winemaker. Once Hobbs' tenure drew to a close, the equally estimable Philippe Melka brought his considerable talents to bear on the project. From some of Napa's most iconic and coveted vineyard sites, they source fruit with the sole purpose of crafting wines of simultaneous balance and power. Capturing the elemental dichotomy, the two sides of the same coin, is their operating ethos - light and dark, yin and yang, Vice Versa.
