All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. Based in Montreal, this consignor has always had a passion for farming and was once a part-owner of a winery in Oregon. His journey into wine collecting began in 2005 when he acquired a collection from a SAQ cellar owner, soon after which he started investing in Bordeaux futures. Except for the Vice Versa, which was purchased directly from the winery, his entire collection was sourced through the SAQ. Every bottle has been carefully stored in his custom-built, climate-controlled underground cellar by Mr. St-Laurent.
The rating for 2010 Chateau Pontet Canet Pauillac is 100 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2010 Pontet-Canet offers a very deep garnet color. Whoa—the nose explodes with a vast array of black fruit preserves and savory nuances- plum preserves, blackcurrant cordial, black cherry coulis and licorice with wafts of dried lavender, melted chocolate, charcuterie, black olives, truffles and camphor plus a hint of sandalwood. The full-bodied palate is completely filled with black fruits, exotic spices and earthy nuances with a firm foundation of ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing with epic length and depth. So much more expressive and seductive than a lot of 2010s at this stage, and yet it is still incredibly youthful!
