The wines in this collection are from the cellar of a prominent Burgundy collector. He purchased most on release, and they have been kept under ideal conditions in professional storage.
The rating for 2010 Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin Clos St Jacques Premier Cru is 95 points from Burghound, Allen Meadows and the tasting note - Soft wood frames wonderfully fresh, airy, perfumed and beautifully complex aromas of red currant, warm earth, stone, crushed herbs and spice hints that exhibit just a hint of secondary development. The excellent depth of the nose continues onto the equally cool and brilliantly refined mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding depth of material and stunning length on the linear, focused and powerful finish. I would further note that this was quite closed at first and benefited enormously from the aeration. In sum, this is a strikingly beautiful CSJ that should live for a very long time. Tasted several times with consistent notes.
