All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.

 

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. Driven by a lifelong love of food and wine, the consignor has spent over 30 years building his collection. He has stored every bottle in a temperature-controlled cellar since acquisition. Each selection was purchased directly through an authorized distributor, guaranteeing impeccable provenance and a clear chain of custody.
2010 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas from this lot has the following scores - The Wine Advocate 99 points, Decanter 99 points, Vinous 98 points, Wine Spectator 97 points. This is the tasting note for 2010 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas from Robert Parker - I can’t say the same thing about the 2010 Cornas, as it’s crazily backwards, concentrated and structured, and needs some bottle age to round into form. Nevertheless, the incredible quality is present in its purity, focus, full-bodied richness and awesome finish. Give it another 3-4 years and enjoy it over the following 15-20 years (if not more). Always a fun visit, this small vertical took place in Clape’s cellar in Cornas, with Pierre-Marie Clape, who’s now running the estate. We also tasted through multiple barrels of their 2012s and 2013s, but I’ll wait and include that commentary in the northern Rhone report due out in October.
