A Vancouver-based cellar who purchased all wines on release from trusted importers/agents. Wines were stored professionally from the time of purchase. Looking to pair down his cellar, Iron Gate is delighted to bring these wines to auction.
2010 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Cuvee Vieilles Vignes Musigny Grand Cru from this lot has the following scores - BurgHound.com 97 points, Vinous 97 points, Wine Spectator 97 points, Tim Atkin, MW 97 points, Jeannie Cho Lee (formerly Asian Palate) 96 points, CellarTracker 96 points, John Gilman's View from the Cellar 95 points. This is the tasting note for 2010 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Cuvee Vieilles Vignes Musigny Grand Cru from Allen Meadows (Burghound) - A highly spiced and intensely floral nose evidences hints of violet, lilac, wild rose and lavender along with notes of both red and black pinot fruit and a kirsch nuances. The pure and intense yet silky broad-shouldered flavors possess a powerful yet almost delicate mouth feel thanks to the dense but fine tannins shaping the balanced, focused and delineated mineral-driven finish. This remains unapologetically built to age and indeed it will require plenty of it. In a word, impressive. Tasted on multiple occasions since release with consistent notes..
