His collecting journey began in 1999, growing from a $10 bottle curiosity into a deep, lifelong appreciation for wine. Despite decades of experience, he continues to learn from each new bottle he buys and each new wine he tastes. This humility is matched by his discipline in sourcing and storage. Every bottle in his collection was purchased through the BCL or via auction, then held in professional, temperature-controlled facilities before moving to his home cellar. He maintains a complete paper trail for the collection, with the original receipts, auction records, and lot numbers available for every bottle.
2012 DRC Romanee St Vivant Grand Cru from this lot has the following scores - Vinous 97 points, The Wine Advocate 96 points, BurgHound.com 95 points, CellarTracker 95 points. This is the tasting note for 2012 DRC Romanee St Vivant Grand Cru from Robert Parker - The 2012 Romanée St Vivant, incidentally served before Richebourg rather than afterwards unlike previous years, was picked on September 28 and 29 at 24 hectoliters per hectare. There is a wondrous, ethereal purity to this 2012, a little more sumptuous than I recall it from barrel, with kirsch and freshly picked strawberries. As it opens, it gains more and more sensuality. The palate is rounded, almost curvaceous in the mouth, clearly more concentrated than the 2011 with a sense of authority and purpose, a bit of daring-do on the long finish. It leaves a slightly ferrous residue on the aftertaste, completing what is a marvelous and sensual Grand Cru. .
