All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.

 

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.

This consignor’s fascination with wine began with a deep appreciation for the history, craft, and regional diversity of the world's great producers. Over time, that curiosity turned into collecting exceptional bottles built to age. Built over several years, his collection was assembled gradually with an emphasis on provenance, careful selection, and long-term cellaring rather than immediate consumption. The majority of the cellar was acquired through Iron Gate Auctions, supplemented by select purchases from provincial boards—including the LCBO, BCL, and AGLC—and acquisitions made while traveling. Once acquired, the wines were kept in dedicated, temperature-controlled storage—safely protected from light and vibration—where they remained untouched until consignment to ensure optimal condition.

This is the tasting note for 2015 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac from Robert Parker - The 2015 Mouton Rothschild is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in 100% new oak with a mid-July 2017 bottling. Deep garnet-purple colored, this Mouton pulls off an incredibly impactful entrance, emerging from the glass with profound notes of blackberry preserves, plum pudding, crème de cassis and grilled meats, featuring perfectly accessorized accents of sandalwood, cinnamon stick and fenugreek with wafts of dried roses, unsmoked cigars and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is completely packed with rich, ripe black fruits sparked with blue and red fruit undertones and an incredible structure of very firm, very ripe tannins, with seamless freshness and an epically long, earth-laced finish. Possessing striking natural beauty framed by impeccable crafting, this 2015 is a total diva and well worth attention. Give it a good 7-8 years in bottle, at least, and drink it over the next 30+ years..
