An Ontario-based consignor who has carefully monitored and maintained his wine collection. He has a deep appreciation for Bordeaux but holds a special love for California wines, spending considerable time in Napa. He sourced his bottles from the LCBO, SAQ and some Alberta wine retailers, and directly from California wineries. All bottles were stored in immaculate conditions in his Eurocave wine cabinets, which are both temperature and humidity controlled.
2015 Petrus Pomerol from this lot has the following scores - The Wine Advocate 100 points, James Suckling 100 points, Wine Enthusiast 100 points, Decanter 100 points, Jeff Leve The Wine Cellar Insider 100 points, The Wine Independent 100 points. This is the tasting note for 2015 Petrus Pomerol from Robert Parker - with a score of 100. When I asked winemaker Olivier Berrouet about his greatest challenges in 2015, he replied, “Our biggest challenge is to avoid all the temptations you can have in the vineyard and in the cellar. You can go too far. With our job, if you go too far, you can’t go back. Little steps are best.” His comments eloquently explain the immense pressure of handling a seemingly pressure-less vintage like 2015 in Pomerol. But, with the devil in all the many details that are involved in the pursuit of wine perfection, if anyone has that devil by the horns, it is this incredibly talented young winemaker..
