All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.

 

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.

This consignor began his journey into collecting wine seven or eight years ago, sparked by the memorable experience of sharing a bottle of Stag’s Leap Cask 23 with a friend. Since that introduction, he has built a focused collection sourced exclusively from three reputable vendors: Wine and Beyond, Devine Wines in Edmonton, and Iron Gate Auctions. To ensure the integrity of every bottle, he has maintained them in a professional-grade wine cooler from the moment of purchase until their consignment. He is now offering these selections for auction simply because his collection has grown beyond his personal consumption rate, and his palate has recently transitioned from a preference for Bordeaux toward Burgundy.

This is the tasting note for 2015 Tua Rita Redigaffi Rosso di Toscana IGT from Robert Parker - with a score of 96 points. The 2015 Redigaffi is dubbed an explosive year by the winery team. In fact, this Merlot is especially opulent and exuberant after a cool spring season and a hot summer. Fruit on the vine was picture-perfect, and I remember photographing clusters for my archive. My tasting notes describe dark cherry fruit, baker's chocolate and a soft lactic note. The wine wraps thickly over the palate, imparting sweet tannins, toasted oak and lots of abundant textural richness. This is a beauty that is still holding well.
