A blue chip collection filled with top California cult and fine Burgundy. The collector began amassing Old World wines when living in Montreal and Toronto and expanded his appreciation for California wine when living in San Francisco. Starting his cellar in the late 1990's, the majority of the wines were purchased directly from the winery or estate and were stored in a temperature and humidity-controlled private cellar.
2022 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Romanee Conti Monopole Grand Cru from this lot has the following scores - Decanter 99 points, Vinous 98 points, CellarTracker 98 points. This is the tasting note for 2022 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Romanee Conti Monopole Grand Cru from Decanter - The breed and elegance of Romanée-Conti are immediately apparent from the detailed aromatic palette of the 2011 that ranges from pomegranate to blackcurrant, accented with notes of smoke, earth, star anise, and a suggestion of lavender. The aromas are elegant and somewhat restrained but continue to open up with time in the glass. The texture is firm and compact, yet there is nothing astringent or hard about the wine – it is starting to be approachable even now but will continue to age and improve for decades.
