All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.

A Vancouver-based cellar who began collecting when Rauzan Segla and Bonnes Mares were accessible for under $10. The collector began dedicating any little bit of extra money he had to buying wine, primarily Bordeaux and Burgundy, and he never stopped. Nearly everything was purchased directly on release, from trusted retailers in BC, Alberta, Washington, California, and New York. Initially storing everything in a climate controlled home cellar, he expanded into professional storage some years ago. It recently became obvious that he had acquired far more wine that he could consume, and Iron Gate is delighted to work with this client to bring this collection to auction.

In the mouth, this presents a smelted alliance of liqueur-like black fruit essence, saline minerality, and deep, roasted meatiness. A subtly oily, creamily-textured feel covers a wealth of refined tannins. For all of its sheer finishing, distilled-fruit intensity and grip, this never neglects the first duty of wine – to refresh – and displays gravity-defying lift as it heads down the runway and takes off for a spectacularly long, high-flying finish of utmost clarity and replete with nuances. Plan on following this wine – should you be so lucky as to latch onto a bottle – for at least 15-20 years.
